Several nominations were recently appointed to local committees by the city council this week.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen plan to revisit appointments to the Triangle Cultural Board and the Keep Yazoo Beautiful Board as board members consider more nominations. But nominations were closed, and appointments were made last Monday for the Yazoo City Housing Authority, the Parks and Recreation Board, the Planning and Zoning Board, the Public Service Commission Board and the Yazoo Port Commission.
Within the Yazoo City Housing Authority, Betty Priest was appointed to the five-member board.
On the Parks and Recreation Board, David Claybon was appointed to the 12-member board, which Yazoo City is represented with five members.
Within the Planning and Zoning Board, the city council appointed Daniel Pender, Oliver Sampson and Robert Barton to the five-member board.
On the Public Service Commission Board, Robert Coleman was appointed to the five-member board.
And on the Yazoo Port Commission, Van Ray was appointed to the three-member board.
The city council will revisit the appointments to the Triangle Cultural Board and the Keep Yazoo Beautiful Board during its next regular board meeting.
