Benton Academy has won five of its last seven games, starting with a 12-0 win over the Jackson Lady Victors and ending with a 10-5 loss at Central Holmes Monday.
In a weekend tournament at MRA the Lady Raiders defeated Leake Academy 7-5 and North Delta 13-2 and lost 7-2 to Pillow Academy.
Brynn Blackstock went 3-for-3 at Humphreys to lead Benton from the plate. Blackstock had an inside the park home run in the third inning and singles in the first and fifth innings.
Maci Lowery earned the win for BA, giving up just one hit and no runs over six innings while striking out seven and walking none.
Annalise Turner had three hits to add to the winning effort. Lucy McDaniel and Leta Greco each had two hits.
Blackstock had another big day at the plate against the Lady Victors with a three-run homer and an RBI triple.
McDaniel earned the win on the mound in that game.
On Saturday the Lady Raiders overcame a four-run deficit to defeat Leake.
Lowery had a two-run home run in the third inning. Madison Ledbetter earned the win.
After a 7-2 loss to Pillow Academy, BA bounced back with a 13-2 win over North Delta.
Lowery blasted her second home run of the day with a shot over the left field fence. She would also earn the win on the mound for BA.
Lura Greco, Lowery and Perry Kate Kraft each had two hits in the win. Reagan Uthoff was patient at the plate and drew a pair of walks.
At Central Holmes Monday, the Lady Raiders had a dozen hits as a team, but it wasn’t enough to hold of the Lady Trojans in a 10-5 loss.
Kraft, McDaniel and Lura and Leta Greco each had a pair of hits in the game.
Lindsey Hogue, Kaitlyn Becker, McDaniel, Turner and Lowery each drove in a run for BA.
The Lady Raiders hosted Deer Creek on Tuesday. That game had not been completed by press time.
