Manchester Academy’s dynamic duo of Pressley Trammell and Anna Riley Kelly both scored in double digits Monday night while leading the Lady Mavs to a 57-41 victory over rival Benton Academy.
Trammell scored a game-high 21 points and Kelly totalled 17 in the Lady Mavs' 16-point win.
Manchester outscored Benton 23-11 in the first quarter to start things off with a bang. After a 9-6 second frame, they led 32-17 at the half. Benton made a mini-run in the third quarter, but the Lady Mavs would not be denied.
Other MA scorers included Sydney Porter with eight, and Lexie Greenlee, Anna Grace Ables, Angel Rae Carpenter and Mary Margaret Druery with three points apiece.
Brynn Blackstock was the only Lady Raider to reach double figures with 11 points. Kaye Louise Purvis added nine, Ella McCain had eight, Lindsey Hogue had six, Isabella Maygar had three and Sarah Bailey Jackson and Emma Middleton each scored two.
The Lady Mavericks return to action Thursday at home against Washington Academy while the Lady Raiders travel to Deer Creek
