The scheduled meeting of Lintonia Garden Club on February 17, 2022 was rescheduled to February 24, 2022 due to the severity of the storm moving over Yazoo City.
The meeting was held at the home of Dr. Elouise Upchurch with the assistance of Mrs. Lyndall Moore.
Lintonia Garden Club is affiliated with the National Garden Clubs Inc., Deep South Region, The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. and River Road District.
The meeting was opened with prayer led by Marietta Wilkinson. The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer’s report was given. Upcoming events were discussed, along with setting a date for our project in Satartia. Some members will attend the Deep South Convention in Natchez and others will attend the State Convention in Brandon. Two members of Lintonia Garden were given Life Memberships to the Garden Clubs of Mississippi Inc. Both ladies served as Past Presidents of Lintonia Garden Club, Mrs. William Montgomery (Robbie) and Dr. Elouise Upchurch. Both of whom were greatly honored by their club members.
The program presenter was Kay Mills, Yazoo County Project Administrator for Soil, Water and Conservation. Her topic was “Nature Detective” a hands-on program for all to enjoy.
After Mills’ program, delicious refreshments were served.
The club’s next meeting was held on March. 17.
