A suspect finds himself behind the same bars he allegedly tried to sneak contraband into after deputies made a major contraband arrest this week.
Jacorey Dillard, 19, was charged with introduction of contraband after he was apprehended by Yazoo County deputies during Monday’s early morning hours.
As the investigation continues, a second suspect remains on the run.
Simon Stubblefield, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said deputies received a call around 4:30 a.m. in reference to two subjects throwing contraband over the fence at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility.
“Once deputies arrived, we were able to apprehend Dillard on the scene,” Stubblefield said. “We recovered two duffel bags with about 50 pounds of tobacco, two pounds of marijuana in individual packages, cigars, cell phones and other normal contraband.”
Dillard remained in the county jail as of press time, and Stubblefield anticipates a second arrest of the other suspect as the investigation continues.
