State Farm donates Fire Prevention Kit to Yazoo City Fire Department

By THE YAZOO HERALD,

State Farm agents know first-hand the trauma a family faces following a devastating house fire.

That's one reason why the state's largest home insurer is taking a proactive approach to working with local fire departments to help communities reduce house fires.

Yazoo City State Farm agent David McPhail recently donated a fire prevention kit to the Yazoo City Fire Department in honor of National Fire Protection Association Fire Prevention Week.  The kit contains educational fire prevention materials for homeowners and children.

Firefighters can share this information at fire stations or at community events.  This year's theme was "Not all heroes wear a cape.”

"We hope this donation will help raise awareness and reduce fire losses in the Yazoo City community," says State Farm agent David McPhail.

Fire prevention week was October 6-12.
