The Yazoo Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held its April 15, 2021 meeting via Zoom set up by Janet Looney Whittington, NSDAR Curator General.
Sue Patterson, Yazoo Chapter Regent, presided over the meeting with Montine Young Bond, Yazoo Chapter Chaplin leading the opening ritual.
The program was given by Cindy Mangum, MSSDAR State Insignia Chairman. She spoke on the DAR Insignia pin, the symbol of the Daughters of the American Revolution that every member wears. Pins are worn designating offices and chairmanships held along with their Ancestor pins. Other pins are donation pins, which help support the NSDAR in the areas of Preservation, Education and Patriotism.
The business meeting followed with Kathleen Olivieri reading the President General’s Report. The minutes by Priscilla Harper, Recording Secretary were approved. The following committee reports were: Ava Anderson Hale, Conservation, Kathleen Collins Olivieri-Chapter Scrapbook and JoAnne Gibbs Collins -DAR Good Citizen.
Yazoo Chapter Delegates to the virtual Continental Congress in Washington DC were elected.
