The Yazoo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held its November 18, 2021 meeting via zoom provided by Janet Whittington.
Sue Patterson presided over the meeting. The members finalized their visit to the female veterans in the Kosciusko Veterans Hospital and presenting gift bags, information on Native American Heritage month to Bentonia Gibbs first grade and Christian Covenant Kindergarten and information on Native American Greenwood LeFlore to Yazoo City Middle School and Benton Academy.
Priscilla Harper reported on her Revolutionary War Ancestor, patriot Gideon Winston Carr.
Committee reports were sent out via Internet previous to the meeting by Ava Hale.
Janet Looney Whittington presented a program with pictures on the 250th anniversary of the March 5, 1770 Boston Massacre. This was the turning point in relations between the American Colonists and the British authorities. It provided the spark that led to the Revolutionary War.
