Yazoo City senior point guard Damarion Winston did all he could to lift his team to victory last Saturday in the Indians’ Rumble in the South matchup with powerhouse Pascagoula.
Winston erupted for a career-high 33 points, and led a Yazoo City second half charge that eventually ended in a 60-59 defeat.
The loss drops the Indians to 18-3 on the season.
Winston connected on 5-of-8 of this three point attempts and also grabbed three rebounds.
Joining Winston in double figures was Tamarion Hoover with a double-double (15 points and 12 rebounds).
Other scorers were Caleb Crozier with five, and Daveon Henry, Xaquarius Thomas and Jacolby Little each with two.
Yazoo City returned to action Tuesday night against Cleveland Central and travels to Holmes Central tonight and to Gentry on Friday.
