On June 5, 2025, Keep Yazoo County Beautiful roudly achieved official affiliate status, joining over 700 Keep America Beautiful organizations nationwide. This milestone marks a significant step in the county’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community beautification.
To attain affiliate status, the organization completed a rigorous six-month process, which included board development, organizational structuring, training, community litter assessments, and hands-on cleanup initiatives. The final training, facilitated by Sarah Kountouris and Jan Richardson of Keep Mississippi Beautiful, took place at the Ricks Memorial Library Annex, where board members and community volunteers successfully fulfilled all requirements.
Guided by the mission to promote beautification, conservation, and environmental improvement, Keep Yazoo County Beautiful will continue its work in collaboration with the Yazoo County Board of Supervisors. With this official designation, the organization is poised to enhance its efforts in creating a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant community for all.
