Janice Barkley Middleton went to be with the Lord and also with the love of her life, Charles Edward Middleton, Jr. on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
Janice was born December 9, 1932 to Dr. Thomas Jefferson and Lois Randle Barkley in Isola, Mississippi. They later moved to Belzoni, Mississippi.
Charles and Janice were married July 25, 1953, for 60 years, and lived in Yazoo City, Mississippi. They were members of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her four sons, Dr. Charles Edward Middleton, III, married to Suzanne, living in Acworth, Georgia; Dr. Randle Thomas Middleton, married to Lynda, living in Huntsville, Alabama; Marion Jare’ Middleton, married to Heather, living in Oxford, Mississippi; and Darren Barkley Middleton, married to Angela, living in Oxford, Mississippi.
She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dr. TJ and Lois Barkley, her husband Charlie Middleton, and her brother Dr. Jare’ Lyons Barkley.
Services will be graveside at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City on Oct. 17 at 11 a.m.. Officiating will be Reverend Bill Poole under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home.
