Jack Spencer went to his heavenly home on December 30, 2025 due to complications from pneumonia.
Jack was born on March 1, 1935 in Tolarsville, a small community in Holmes County, Mississippi, to parents Willie E. and Addie Mae Spencer. Jack was the youngest of seven children and always talked about his wonderful childhood where he had the freedom to hunt and fish in the hills of Holmes County with his brothers. The family had a gravel business and that is where he developed a deep love of construction work and driving heavy machinery.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Dot Spencer and daughter, Becky Elaine Spencer.
Jack had a strong work ethic and passed this on to his children and grandchildren. He also loved people and enjoyed helping anyone in need. He would say "Do what you love and find your calling, and you will never have to work a day in your life". Jack was blessed to find his calling in the concrete construction business.
Jack was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Tolarsville and was a big part of helping to remodel the church and also served as a deacon. He believed that you could find the answer to any of life's problems in the Bible.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Deborah McGraw, (Don), his son, Tim Spencer (Cyndi).
Grandchildren, Liz Cooley, (Clay), Spencer McGraw, (Lacey), Kassi Beckwith, (B.W.), Britton Spencer, (AnnBri).
Great grandchildren, Lauren Cooley, Sarah Kate Beckwith, Mary Beth Beckwith, Will Keeton Ketchum, Jack Wyilder Spencer, and Lane Spencer. Jack leaves behind a number of neices and nephews, many of whom he helped raise and looked up to him as a father figure.
The family would also like to express a special "Thank You" to Janice Kirk, his caregive for the past three years.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Stricklin King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
A graveside service was held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Donations may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund.
