To no one’s surprise, a DeSoto County woman’s petition for a ballot initiative legalizing marijuana in Mississippi came nowhere close to getting the required number of voter signatures.
Last week was the deadline to collect more than 100,000 signatures across the state. The pro-marijuana effort got only 13,320.
