As the community continues to recover from last weekend's devastating winter storm, the Yazoo City Police Department continues its investigations into three separate shootings that have occurred within Yazoo City over the last 24 hours.
The most recent shooting occurred today around 11:50 a.m. at Magnolia Apartments. There was property damage reported, but fortunately no one was injured during the incident.
"Upon officers responding to the scene, they noticed a vehicle leaving that matched a description provided by dispatch," said Maj. Richard Speight. "Officers initiated a traffic stop. Three suspects and two firearms are now in custody."
Speight said the three individuals have not been charged yet but do remain under questioning.
Today's shooting marks the third shooting within Yazoo City over the last 24 hours. Two other shootings were reported yesterday with those investigations also continuing.
