Surrounded by loved ones, Idris Vernon “IV” Senior, 90, of Bentonia, was welcomed into eternal glory on January 19, 2026.
Idris was born on August 22, 1935, in England to May Marie Fuller and Ernest William Senior. The youngest of ten children, he was a devoted member of the Church of England.
IV will be remembered for his selfless love, generosity, and fun-loving personality. He was a man shaped by fire, courage, and unwavering faith—a true hero who consistently put others before himself, not only in words, but through his actions. He placed his faith and trust fully in the Lord.
Affectionately known as “Bossman,” Idris faithfully served for over 50 years at W.S. “Red” Hancock, where he was respected and loved by many.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Bessie S. Senior of Clinton; his sons, Ernie (Sherry) Senior of Bentonia and Steven (Denise) Senior of Pontotoc; and his daughter, Diane (Wesley) Searcy of Clinton. He was a beloved grandfather to 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Vernon Eugene Senior; his parents; and all nine of his siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Hebron Baptist Church in Bentonia, Mississippi, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Gideons International or The Salvation Army.
