Three Yazoo City residents were among the graduates honored as Holmes Community College held its Associate Degree Nursing Pinning Ceremony for the Ridgeland Campus Class of 2025.
Yazoo County graduates Shelby Green, Destiny Rogers and Cassidy Scott completed the Associate Degree Nursing program and were recognized alongside their classmates as they prepared to enter the nursing profession.
The pinning ceremony marked the students’ transition from nursing education into professional practice, symbolizing their readiness to provide patient care with skill, compassion and integrity. Family members, friends and faculty attended the ceremony to celebrate the graduates’ dedication and perseverance through the rigorous program.
Dr. Bronwyn Martin, vice president of the Ridgeland Campus, welcomed attendees, followed by an opening prayer from Jennifer Armitage. Instructor Danette Tannehill presented the traditional pin and candle symbolism, highlighting nursing’s legacy of service and the importance of the Florence Nightingale lamp.
