The first-ever Good News Gospel Festival will take place on the
lawn at GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, beginning at 12 p.m. The free
community event will celebrate the rich heritage of gospel music in the Mississippi Delta, featuring
performances by the GRAMMY®-winning Mississippi Mass Choir, Dr. Andrew Cheairs and the Songbirds,
Chris Dixon & Joyfull Noise, Harmony of Boyle, The Eternal Light Singers, G Hope Mass Choir, Markise
Jones & the Guys, and the Lamplighters of Mound Bayou. Stan Jones, multi-award-winning musician and
Senior Director of A&R at One Entertainment, will host the show.
“Part of our mission here at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is to celebrate all forms of recorded music,” said
Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “While Mississippi is known for its vast
contributions to the blues, there are also a lot of incredible artists who have a deep connection to gospel music
in our region. We’re looking forward to extending the Museum’s reach in the community and celebrating gospel
music at our first-ever Good News Gospel Festival.”
The Good News Gospel Festival is free and open to the public. The event will start at 12 p.m. on the front lawn
of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. Sponsors of the festival include South Delta Planning and Development
District, Visit Mississippi, Delta Health Center, McDonald’s, Visit Cleveland, and Walmart. Additional
