On Friday MSDH is reporting 1,031 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 11 deaths. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 34,622, with 1,215 deaths.
Case totals include 45 newly identified cases among residents in long-term care facilities, with 6 new deaths. There are currently 109 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
The number of Mississippians now hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection has risen to 711, with an additional 270 hospitalized with suspected COVID-19.
Yazoo County currently has 548 confirmed cases and six related deaths.
