Almost 24 hours after a mass shooting Friday night, another shooting occurred not far from the same location Saturday in Yazoo County.
A drive-by shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday on Sylvan Court, which is located near Shady Drive, according to Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
“A white four-door vehicle came through the area and shot at people who were on the front porch of a house,” Gann said. “Two people were injured, but those injuries were not life-threatening.”
No arrests have been made in the shootings that took place on Friday or Saturday yet.
“We had every deputy out in full force last night too,” Gann added. “We are doing what we can, but it’s still unfortunate that this happened.”
Gann said the investigation continues, but he doesn’t think the recent shootings are connected.
“But we are still very much looking into everything as the investigation continues,” Gann said.
