A suspect remains behind bars after he allegedly fired shots into the home of his girlfriend in rural Yazoo County.
Quincy Smoots was charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Smoot allegedly fired shots into the home of his girlfriend on Anding Oil City Road. Four people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported.
“A Bentonia unit followed the suspect, but the unit’s blue lights were not working,” Gann said. “As soon as they entered Madison County, deputies from Madison stopped him, and we were able to make the arrest.”
Smoots remained in jail at press time.
