GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi has announced that applications are now open for its Delta Sessions after-school music education program taking place in 2026. Supported in part by a grant from the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area, the Crossroads School of American Music: Delta Sessions 101 program is designed for students in grades 4th through 12th and adults who are interested in further developing their skills on guitar, drums, piano and voice. The Museum is pleased to offer a new lineup of music education classes for the upcoming session, including beginner, intermediate, and adult-level courses.
Beginner classes for students in grades 4–12 will run for 10 sessions from January 13 through February 12, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00–5:00 p.m., with enrollment limited to 20 participants. Intermediate classes for students in grades 4–12 will consist of 12 sessions held from February 17 through April 2, also meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00–5:00 p.m., with space for up to 15 participants. Adult classes (ages 21+) will be offered in a 10-session format from January 13 through February 12, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00–4:00 p.m., with enrollment limited to five participants.
“We are so thrilled to be bringing back our Delta Sessions after-school music education program,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “Since we opened our Museum in Mississippi, music education has always been at the heart of what we do. Inspiring the next generation of music makers is truly the reason we are here. We can’t wait to provide aspiring guitarists, pianists and singers with the opportunity to develop the skills they’ll need to pursue a career in music.”
Each participant will be provided with free lessons, a lessons book, and a free guitar for the guitar students with successful completion and graduation from the Delta Sessions program. Through its Delta Sessions program, the Mississippi Museum hopes to reach students and families across the 18-county Mississippi Delta region.
