Freda Merle Edwards, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
She was born on March 12, 1929 in Union, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Evie James; husband, Bob of 64 years; and their son, Rob Edwards.
Freda leaves behind her sister, Nancy Blackwell, Fairhope, AL; daughters, Debbie Edwards of Memphis, TN; Cindy (Steve) Keller, Madison, MS; granddaughters, Allison (Matt) Massingill, Madison MS; Bethany (Stephen) Leininger, Jonesboro, AR; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Slade Massingill, Nolan, Maggie and William Leininger; niece, Renee Browning, Fairhope, AL and nephew, Greg (Nikki) Blackwell, Mobile, AL.
Freda was a devoted sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a passion for cooking, growing flowers, gardening and watching MSU Bulldogs.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.
