Although charges were dismissed against a murder suspect last week, he found himself behind bars a week later on assault charges.
Noah Combs, 27, was charged with aggravated assault after a female victim filed charges against him last Wednesday, a week after murder charges were dismissed against him.
Chief Deputy Terry Gann, with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Combs was arrested on a warrant after a female filed papers against him.
And more charges could be coming.
“Combs remains under investigation with the possibility of being in the possession of stolen identities,” Gann said. “More charges could be forthcoming following our investigation.”
Combs was charged with murder earlier this month in connection to the shooting death of a Yazoo City man at a local car wash. An altercation at a car wash on Barnwell Street last month led to the shooting death of Edward Rogers.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Rogers, 27, died from a gunshot wound at a local hospital shortly after the shooting.
However, a municipal judge dismissed those charges against Combs without prejudice for lack of evidence last Wednesday.
Combs was then brought back into custody on an aggravated assault warrant. As of press time, he remained in custody at the county jail.
