Multiple arrests and serious allegations against at least 20 law enforcement officials in several surrounding counties have surfaced across the Mississippi Delta as the FBI continues its “Drug Trafficking Takedown, which has been described as uncovering a “monumental betrayal of public trust.”
A press conference moments ago named multiple indictments against law enforcement officials who allegedly were involved in a complex drug trafficking operation. FBI officials said Drug Trafficking Takedown has been a “years long investigation” and will continue beyond today.
Among those included in the raid’s indictment was Sean Williams, who was identified as being with the Yazoo City Police Department during this afternoon’s press conference.
But Interim Police Chief Patrick Jaco said Williams was not nor was he ever employed with the Yazoo City Police Department. He said Williams is, however, a Yazoo City resident.
“Sean Williams is not and was not employed with the Yazoo City Police Department,” Jaco said. “However, if anyone involved in these serious allegations are or were involved with the Yazoo City Police Department, I would 100 percent support their arrest and prosecution.”
Other arrests in neighboring counties include Sunflower County Chief Deputy Marvin Flowers, Washington County Sheriff Milton Gaston and Humphreys County Sheriff Bruce Williams
More details will appear in the next edition of The Yazoo Herald.
