A suspect has charged with murder after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound on the porch of a house in Yazoo County.
According to Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers, Joshun Rayborn, 34, was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound on the front porch of a home in the 2100 block of Old Highway 49.
“It appears as if he was shot and ran about 50 yards before collapsing on the front porch of a home,” Shivers said.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said one gunshot wound was found in Rayborn’s chest. He also added that a suspect has been charged with murder and remained in jail.
Deyton Worthy, 22, was charged with murder Monday afternoon.
“The two men have been having disagreements for a while, and it escalated to violence,” Gann said. “We have a couple of other reasons we are investigating for motive. And there are still people we are wanting to speak with as this investigation continues.”
