A Yazoo County man heading to jail following a disturbance was found with drugs in his possession during his booking. That discovery led to even more charges for Steven Pettigrew.
Pettigrew, 42, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, introducing contraband into a correctional facility, possession of paraphernalia and trespassing.
Terry Gann, chief deputy with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said deputies responded to a disturbance call in the Renshaw area last Saturday.
“On the scene, deputies found a pipe on Pettigrew,” Gann said. “Once he arrived at the jail, a thorough search was then conducted, which led to the discovery of a felony amount of crystal meth on him.”
