The search continues for the suspect involved in a shooting that occurred near the Yazoo City Post Office on Main Street earlier Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect, who has been identified as Fernando Weekly, took off on foot after the shooting and eventually cut off his ankle monitor near a house on Monroe Street. The suspect was wearing the ankle bracelet for monitoring purposes by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
After driving himself to a local hospital, the male victim was airlifted to a Jackson hospital.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and reports of his whereabouts should be made by calling 911.
