Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson released a statement in support of federal policies to advance the interests of American and Mississippi farmers and our rural communities:
“America needs the Farmers First Agenda to ensure we have a healthy, affordable, abundant food supply, because food security is national security. We need policies that cut regulations and provide certainty for our farmers, that create a fair playing field for trade and export opportunities while safeguarding our domestic food supply and fueling our economy. Through more affordable energy and agricultural inputs, relief from burdensome regulations and taxes, and predictability in commodity prices through tools like a new Farm Bill, we can promote our agricultural heritage and restore rural prosperity. I’m pleased to support the America First Policy Institute’s Farmers First Rural Policy Agenda and I look forward to working with Mississippi’s federal delegation, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, and President Donald J. Trump to execute and implement these policies to benefit our farmers and all Americans who depend on the food, fiber, and shelter our farmers produce.”
Commissioner Gipson joined agriculture commissioners from eleven other states supporting the Farmers First Rural Policy Agenda in an op-ed published today in Agri-Pulse at: https://www.agri-pulse.com/articles/22756-opinion-agriculture-commissioners-welcome-launch-of-america-first-policy-institutes-farmers-first-agenda.
