It is becoming more and more difficult for me to understand the liberal mind. The decisions liberals make baffle me, and I wonder if logic has escaped them. For example, under “Ole Joe,” the military is being turned into a social experiment with more attention being paid to transgender recruits than to the training soldiers must undergo to become a fighting force.
As a great conservative once remarked, “the military is designed to break things and kill people,” yet somehow we are now in the midst of a ghoulish social experiment. The Chinese understand what a military is for, and so do the Russians. There is no social experimentation going on there. They are preparing their soldiers for war while America prepares its soldiers for humanitarian missions. Even our military leaders, our generals, are falling for this garbage, and this puts our country at risk.
But there is more. Last week, 54 people were shot in Chicago, and 12 were killed. In New York, 26 people were shot, and there was one death. This goes on almost every week in Chicago, and with the self-avowed communist mayor of New York in charge, New York is rivaling Chicago as a “war zone.” Yet, the Democrat leaders in these cities are dead set on reducing the size of the police department. They want to make it easier to charge policemen with a crime if they use deadly force to stop a crime. They want to make it easier for criminals to sue a policeman and even deprive him or her of their liberty if the second guessers think that the situation was not handled according to liberal rules.
In Chicago, a young man was sitting on his front porch when a stray bullet struck him in the head. An innocent person died because criminals were allowed to roam the streets firing guns indiscriminately. What would have happened if more policemen had been on the streets? Would this young man still be alive if the person who fired this fatal shot had been arrested earlier for his criminal behavior?
My wife and I attended church Sunday, and standing outside the church was a law enforcement officer. We were both very grateful that he was there, but I had to ask the question, “Has society deteriorated so much that our churches have to be guarded by law enforcement officers?” This same officer, once off duty at the church, could be involved in an incident where his life was threatened. He could be shot. He could die. These are the risks he takes to protect the community and those of us who attend church on Sundays.
Most of us cannot be law enforcement officers. I believe that it takes a certain type of person who is able to stay calm under pressure and make split second decisions, some that may involve life and death. It takes guts to face down a criminal with a gun, and very few of us can say we have them.
America is headed down the wrong track, and “Ole Joe” and his band of ultra-liberals don’t have a clue. Crime affects everyone. We need to hire more policemen and place them where they are needed. Young children should be trained to respect the men in blue and know that they are here to make the community safe. Without the citizens of a community knowing that they are safe, then the community cannot thrive.
Donald Trump threatened to send troops into Chicago to assist law enforcement. He never did because the incompetent politicians thought that they could handle the situation. It is painfully obvious that they cannot, and they will not do what is necessary to reduce the slaughter going on in Chicago. New York is slowly getting into the same boat as Chicago. There is no will by the politicians to clean up their city. But I promise you, if a transgender criminal were shot committing a crime, the entire city council would be calling for the officers head.
We’ve got problems, folks, and I don’t see it getting better under our present national leadership.
