Clayton Leroy Alderman, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on August 23, 1946, to Marshall Alderman and Lillie V. Poole, Lee lived a full and colorful life marked by resilience, humor, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors. Over the years, he held many different jobs, each reflecting his strong work ethic and versatility. No matter the role, Lee brought dedication and a quiet determination to everything he did.
What he truly loved most, however, was bass fishing. Whether on a calm lake at sunrise or sharing stories of the one that got away, fishing was where he found peace and joy — and he was always happiest with a rod in his hand and water all around him.
Lee is survived by his children, Jeff Alderman and Lesley Alderman; and his cherished grandchildren, Ashton Alderman, Dalton Clark, and Clayton Clark; his five brothers and sisters, Terry Porter, Herbert Porter, Jean Humphreys, Sydria Shaw and Marilyn Womack. His love for them was unwavering, and his pride in their lives was evident in every conversation.
Lee’s legacy is one of quiet strength, laughter, and a love for the simple pleasures in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial will be held by the family to honor his life and memory at Stricklin-King Funeral Home, at 718 Calhoun Avenue in Yazoo City, on Saturday July 19 with visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. with the service from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.
