Manchester Academy picked up a pair of girls’ basketball wins recently with a win over Deer Creek and another win at Carroll.
The Lady Mavericks defeated Deer Creek 58-21, and picked up a 41-20 road win at Carroll.
Against Carroll, Ellie Carpenter and Alley Grace Ables led the way with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Angel Rae Carpenter added nine, Morgan Foster had seven, Avery Austin had three, and Maggie Day Ragland added one.
In the blowout win over Deer Creek, the Lady Mavs stretched a 13-5 first quarter lead into a 40-11 lead at the half thanks in large part to Angel Rae Carpenter and Ables, who both got hot in the second quarter and scored nine points apiece to fuel a 27-6 frame.
Angel Rae Carpenter went on to score a game-high 16 points, and she was joined in double digits by Ables who had 10.
Other scorers were Ellie Carpenter and Foster with eight apiece, Selah Druey with seven, Embrie Carpenter with four, Aubree Walton with three, and Austin with two.
The Lady Mavericks hosted Central Holmes Tuesday night and welcome Canton to town on Friday.
