Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Washington, 66, died Sept. 14, 2020.
Funeral services were Sept. 20 at Mount Zion M.B. Church with Rev. Howard Hollins II officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Shaffer & Collins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Washington was born July 9, 1954 to Wilson James Washington and Dorothy Louise Washington in Yazoo County. She was the fourth of 12 children. She attended Linwood High School. She loved colorful scenery and rejoiced at the sight of her family.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include he mother, Mrs. Dorothy Washingon of Vaughan; siblings, Mildred Louise Cooley of Chicago, Gwendolyn Ann Williams of Indianola, Edward Earl Washington (Alma) of Azle, Texas, Barbara Jean Johnson (Norman) of Woodbridge, Va., Carolyn Ann Sherman (Robert) of Killeen, Texas, Pastor Willie Roy Washington Sr. (Rutha) of Benton, David Lewis Washington of Stone Mountain, Ga., Dr. Wilson James Washington Jr. of Atlantic City, N.J., Lawanda Franklin of Vaughan, Linda Fay Blackwell of Shirley, Ma. and Melvin Mazwell Washingon of Vaughan; three aunts, Violet Burns (Charles), Elnora Barnslater and Venola Wells, all of Chicago; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Jerry J. Williams Jr., Melvin Maxwell Washington, Wilson James Washington III and David Lewis Washington Sr.
Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Brown, Elijah D. Cooley, Ernest Cooley and Joel A. Washington.
