The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) wants to inform boaters that the boat ramp at Percy Quin State Park in McComb, Mississippi, is re-opened as of January 22, 2026.
On January 13, the boat ramp closed due to flooding resulting in aquatic vegetation accumulating on and around the ramp, making it inaccessible. MDWFP staff have been working over the last week to remove invasive aquatic plants, including water hyacinth and Cuban bulrush. Keeping these invasive plants under control helps protect the health of the lake, while maintaining boating and fishing access for visitors.
