Benton Academy is off to a 3-3 start on the season after falling to Leake Academy 13-1 Monday night.
The Raiders opened the season with a 15-7 win at Park Place and had won two straight before Monday’s loss.
Leake used strong pitching and a big fifth inning to win at BA.
Cullen McCain and Tyler Odum each had a hit for the Raiders.
Benton Academy 11, Calhoun Academy 1
The Raiders piled on six runs in the second inning on the way to a big win over Calhoun at home.
Tyler Odum and Banks Nixon each had RBI singles and Riley Powell had an RBI double build an early lead.
Powell earned the win for the Raiders, striking out eight batters over five innings of work.
Banks Nixon and Powell each had two hits for BA.
Odum and Baylor Creel each drove in two runs.
Benton Academy 11, Leake Academy 10
BA held off a Leak comeback effort for a close win in the first meeting between these two teams. The Raiders chalked up 10 hits on the way to victory.
James Aaron Stanford earned the win for BA.
Ethan Shanks went 3-for-4 to lead the Raiders at the plate. Banks Nixon, Dalton Robles and Riley Powell drove in two runs each.
