Benton Academy wrapped up an outstanding softball season last week finishing runner up in the AA State Championship series.
The Lady Raiders earned the Class 2A North State title and finished the season with a 23-8 record under first year head coach Emily Poe.
Seniors Maci Lowery, Brynn Blackstock and Leta Greco still have one high school game left as all three were chosen to compete in the MAIS Softball All-Star game this week.
Prairie View 13, Benton Academy 6
The Lady Raiders were swinging the bats in game one at Prairie View, but costly errors proved to be too much to overcome.
Brynn Blackstock had a strong performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the first inning and singles in the third and fifth innings. Blackstock drove in two runs and scored three.
Lucy McDaniel hit a two-run homer in the top of the third inning. McDaniel finished the game with a team-high three RBI.
Maci Lowery had two hits and RBI.
Leta Greco, Kaitlyn Becker, Annalise Turner and Braelynn Sumrall all had a hit each for the Lady Raiders.

The Lady Raiders had six hits to Prairie View’s three, but the Lady Spartans walked away with a 2-0 win to earn the state title.
Maci Lowery struck out five batters while allowing just three hits and no earned runs for BA. She also had a hit for the Lady Raiders.
Leta Greco led Benton at the plate with two hits.
Kaitlyn Becker, Lura Greco and Chloe Mae each had a hit for the Lady Raiders.
