Benton Academy’s early season struggles continued on Friday night when they fell 51-21 to Winston Academy.
Kenny Burton, Benton Academy’s head football coach, made no excuses for the lost.
He felt his team didn’t get it done.
“We had a hard time stopping them,” Burton said. “We weren’t very aggressive. We just didn’t get it done.”
Ethan Ingram caught two touchdowns in the loss, one for 62 yards and one for 46 yards.
Cody Prescott scored the third touchdown for Benton from 18 yards out.
The Raiders will try and fight for their first win on Friday night when they face Central Holmes Christian School.
CHCS is winless after falling 47-0 to Tri-County Academy on Friday night.
Burton feels that the game is a dangerous one.
“I just want to keep seeing improvement,” Burton said. “I need to see more aggression. We are playing every guy we have, so everybody is getting playing time. Central Holmes is a dangerous team because they’re like us. They’re fighting to get their first conference win.”
The game between Benton and Central Holmes is set for 7 p.m.
