Lady Raiders take on Newton 10-0

Brynn Blackstock hammered a three-run home run in the first inning to set the tone for a 10-0 win over Newton County Academy Monday.

Maci Lowery pitched a second straight no-hitter, striking out five batters while allowing no hits over four innings.

Leta Greco went 2-for-3 to help lead the Lady Raiders at the plate.

Lady Mavs defeat Carroll 5-4

Claire Stevens and Molly McBride each drove in three runs to help lead Manchester Academy to a 12-3 win over Carroll Academy Monday.

Carroll scored the first run, but Emma Roberts, Embrie Carpenter and Alley Grace Ables all single in the bottom of the second to give the Lady Mavericks a 4-1 lead.

Jaquars too much for Indians

The Yazoo City Indians had the tough task of taking on perennial powerhouse Holmes County this past Friday.
After trailing 18-0 early, the Indians battled back, but in the end the Jaguars’ lead proved to be insurmountable as they went on to win 40-14.

Raiders get first win in shutout

Benton Academy improved to 1-2 on the season after picking up a 36-0 victory over Lee Academy this past Friday.
The Raiders had a balanced offensive output against Lee, with 170 rushing yards and 100 yards through the air.
The Raiders opened things off with a two-yard touchdown run by Clayton Saxton to take an early 6-0 lead.
