Local students earn NMCC honor

The Vice President's List for the Fall 2023 semester at Northwest Mississippi Community College has been released by college officials. Included are over 400 full-time students who completed the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.74.

Local students include Zachary Parks of Bentonia; and Fabiana Tyler of Yazoo.

Washington powers Raiders past Mavericks

Benton Academy point guard Colin Washington scored 20 first half points en-route to a game-high 29 points and a 59-45 Benton victory over Manchester Academy Monday night. The win was the third of the year for the Raiders and couldn't have come at a more opportune time with the Raiders set to begin their district schedule.
