The third suspect in the burglary of a local fireworks business has been arrested.
James Atchison was charged with burglary by the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation began during a traffic stop Monday when deputies noticed a large amount of fireworks in a vehicle driven by Megan Hamm.
Daniel Atchison and James Atchison were passengers in the car.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff said investigators suspected the fireworks may have been stolen after learning that Hamm and Daniel and James Atchison were reportedly attempting to sell fireworks in the West Broadway area.
The suspects also happened to live next door to a fireworks business on US Highway 49.
Chief Investigator Terry Gann went to the business and discovered that someone had forced open a roll up door. Gann followed a trail behind the business that led directly to the Atchison’s back yard.
Along the way he found three large boxes of fireworks and two air conditioner units.
All three suspects remained in the Yazoo County Jail at press time.
