The second suspect involved in an attempted robbery and assault in a local apartment complex was arrested last weekend, with one more suspect remaining on the run.
Bavion Carter, 37, was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and resisting arrest by fleeing on foot.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Carter’s arrest came thanks to information from witnesses.
“We received a tip of his whereabouts, and deputies were able to apprehend him near Magnolia Apartments,” Gann said. “He did attempt to flee, but after a short foot pursuit, he was arrested.”
Carter is the second suspect in an alleged attempted robbery and assault of a male victim in Shady Lane Apartments last week. Alonzo Alexander, 18, was also charged with attempted armed robbery and simple assault.
Gann said a third suspect remains on the run, as the investigation continues.
