A suspect remains behind bars while two other culprits remain on the run after allegedly robbing and assaulting a man in a local apartment complex.
The victim told investigators the suspects did not steal anything from him, but the apprehended suspect did tell deputies “he stole all his marijuana.”
Alonzo Alexander, 18, was charged with attempted armed robbery and simple assault.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the victim was attacked in Shady Lane Apartments last Tuesday.
“The victim said three black males approached him and robbed him at gunpoint,” Gann said. “They then assaulted him pretty bad.”
Gann said Alexander was soon arrested, and deputies continue to search for the two other suspects.
“The victim said the suspects did not get anything off of him,” Gann said. “But the suspect we got did tell us he stole all the victim’s marijuana.”
Gann said Alexander did not have any drugs in his possession when he was arrested.
