Based on the upcoming budget proposal, Yazoo County residents will not see an increase in their taxes for the next fiscal year.
The Yazoo County Board of Supervisors has prepared its 2019-2020 budget proposal, which will not increase the millage rate.
Yazoo County is now operating with a projected total budget revenue of $18,064,287. Of that amount, 64.80 percent, or $11,583,933 is obtained through ad valorem taxes.
For the next fiscal year, the proposed budget has a total projected revenue of $18,481,542. Of that amount, 64 percent, or $11,827,680, is proposed to be financed through ad valorem taxes.
Donna Kraft, county administrator, also said that the Board of Supervisors will not see an increase in their salaries.
A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held on Sept. 3 at 9 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in the Yazoo County Courthouse annex.
