A domestic dispute led to a female victim being allegedly assaulted and held against her will inside a home.
Jeremy Jones was charged with kidnapping, domestic violence and disorderly conduct.
Cpt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said the female victim said Jones allegedly picked her up from a separate location earlier on the day of the incident.
“She said he was driving sporadic,” Nevels said. “She said she tried to exit the vehicle, but he forced and pushed her back inside the vehicle.”
Nevels said the victim said the suspect then forced her inside a house, located at 712 West Second Street, holding her against her will.
“When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect slammed the door in their faces,” Nevels said. “After he slammed the door, officers heard the victim screaming as if she was being assaulted.”
Officers then entered the house and found the victim with injuries to the left side of her face. Jones was then apprehended by officers.
