A suspect wanted in a shooting that left two victims severely injured turned himself into authorities this week. A second suspect remains on the run from local authorities.
Detremon Hunter was charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. Cpt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said a municipal judge set Hunter’s bond at $900,000.
Nevels said officers continue to search for Ketterious Grove, who is facing the same charges as Hunter.
The shooting involved four victims, two of which were struck by gunfire, at Yazoo Estates Apartment Complex on Locust Street last week.
“The four victims were sitting inside a vehicle, getting in and out to talk,” Nevels said. “A car then came through with the two suspects inside. They drove up to the car with the victims and began unloading a tremendous amount of gunfire.”
Nevels said two victims were shot and received medical attention. They remain in recovery as of press time.
Hunter turned himself into authorities about 45 minutes after investigators released his name to the public.
“Crimestoppers is also offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of Grove,” Nevels added.
