A local restaurant owner who has provided a significant boost to the revitalization of downtown Yazoo City is the newest member of the Yazoo Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors.
Thomas Johnson, owner of Tom’s on Main, was appointed to the board during the Board of Supervisors meeting Friday. He succeeds Vernette Griffin, who recently resigned.
Johnson joins P’Reaux’s restaurant owner Johnny Crow, John Meek, Jamie Swafford and Vanessa Conston on the CVB board. Shanitra Finley serves as director.
Parks and Rec
Two new board members were also appointed to the Parks & Recreation Board of Directors.
Grant Andrews was appointed by District 4 Supervisor Jayne Dew. Andrews is a coach at Yazoo County High School.
Josh Kraft was appointed by District 1 Supervisor Van Foster. Kraft is currently serving as a volunteer softball coach in Yazoo City.
