A Rolling Fork police officer convicted of two counts of gratification of lust involving minors will serve a decade in prison.
Samuel Luckett, 40, of Holly Bluff, was sentenced by Judge Jannie Lewis-Blackmon on each count to 15 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with 10 years to serve, five years suspended and placed on five years of supervised probation.
Luckett will serve the sentence on each of those counts concurrently, which means they will be served at the same time, and he must immediately register as a sex offender upon his release from incarceration.
District Attorney Akillie Malone-Oliver, who sought the maximum penalty, said she was pleased with the results.
