A man with a long history of trouble with the law in Yazoo City is back in jail with charges of auto burglary and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Darrell Terrell Brown, 47, of Racetrack Road, was arrested by Yazoo City police officers Thursday of last week after he was found hiding under garbage bags in an alley off of East Madison Street.
Police Chief Jeff Curtis said officers responded to East Madison after getting a report of an auto burglary. Witnesses on the scene helped identify Brown as the suspect, and officers began searching the area. Brown was quickly discovered.
“The suspect has a lengthy criminal history,” Curtis said.
Lt. James Shiers praised the quick response of the first officers on the scene, and the residents who provided information that helped ensure a quick arrest.
