No tax increase for county residents

Based on the upcoming budget proposal, Yazoo County residents will not see an increase in their taxes for the next fiscal year.
The Yazoo County Board of Supervisors has prepared its 2019-2020 budget proposal, which will not increase the millage rate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home.

Funeral services are Monday at 2 p.m. at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Flora City Cemetery.

Man dies in truck crash, three survive being struck by train

A Louisiana man was killed early Saturday morning after the 18-wheeler he was driving flipped over on the interstate.
Kyle Poirier, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene on Interstate 55 in Yazoo County around 5:15 a.m. Saturday.

Second escaped inmate captured

The second inmate who escaped from the Yazoo County Correctional Facility Thursday has been captured.
Reginald Luckett was found Friday afternoon hiding at Lintonia Apartments. Sheriff Jake Sheriff said that Luckett is now back in custody.

The squad received the Herkie award, Stunt Safety Award, Excellence in the Champion Chant evaluation and Superior in the Top Jam evaluation.
