A Yazoo City man has been arrested for a third time on charges related to shooting a gun in the Shady Lane Apartments area.

Devine Dechan Cannon was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Mississippi October jobs down 28,800 from last year

Mississippi's unemployment rate was 7.4 percent for October, 2020. This is slightly worse than the national average of 6.9 percent.
Still, Mississippi has lost 28,800 jobs since October, 1919, when the unemployment rate was 5.6 percent.

Thieves targeting ATVs and trailers around the county

Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said there have been seven reports over the last four months.
