Manchester Academy defeated Benton Academy 12-7 last week to claim victory in both meetings between the rivals this season.
The Mavericks got off to a strong start with Wrigley Richardson hitting an RBI double, Joseph Beidleman hitting a two-run double and Max Hays drawing a walk with the bases loaded.
Manchester’s bats were hot with the team racking up nine hits.
Richardson and Brody Roberts each drove in two runs for MA.
Grant Nixon went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Peyton McGlawn led the Raiders at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a team-high three RBI.
Waylen Dewitt and Dalton Robles also had two hits and two RBI each for BA.
Hayden Austin earned the win for the Mavericks. Austin struck out six batters and gave up three hits in three and a third innings. Jack Miller and Jon Parker Dees both appeared in relief for the Mavericks.
Bryce Ables was the starting pitcher for the Raiders. Riley Powell pitched four innings in relief.
Benton’s game scheduled for Monday vs. Winston was canceled due to weather. The Raiders are set to host Yazoo County on Thursday.
Manchester went on to win two games against Deer Creek before losing 15-7 to Jackson Academy.

Jon Parker Dees went 3-for-3 to lead the Mavericks to a 10-0 win over Deer Creek. Dees hit singles in the first, second and fourth innings.
Brody Roberts struck out 10 batters and surrendered no runs to earn the win for MA.
Richardson went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Beidleman had two hits.

Jack Miller struck out seven batters and gave up no runs to help lead Manchester to a second shutout over Deer Creek.
Adam Edgar and Max Hays each had two hits to help lead MA at the plate. Beidleman, Roberts, Nixon and Dees each drove in two runs.
Jackson Academy 15, Manchester 7
Jackson Academy broke Manchester’s six-game winning streak Friday.
Richardson went 2-for-3 to lead MA in hits. Richardson and Beidleman both drove in a pair of runs.
